Animals & Nature

Animals & Nature are such a big part of who I am and what inspires me. I hope you enjoy learning about my pets and what I find in nature that fascinates me.

We'll all be makin' merry when I marry Mary Mac!

An old Scottish song...

To go with our Highland Cattle!

Mary Mac,
Auntie to the following pretty babies.

Dugald "Dooggie" MacDonald

Wee Anne (Annie) MacKenzie MacDonald

Another pic of Wee Annie.
Poor baby, her horn got bent when she was a baby and now it has grown in crooked.

And...

In Memoriam, Lady Red Anne Mackenzie MacDonald (Annie's & Doogie's Mommy).

She died a few years ago in a major snowstorm. It was very sad. She is missed.

Ladies & Gentlemen...
Chanel will live to fight another day.

I really wasn't sure she was going to make it through the weekend, and after her peeing EVERYWHERE & her 3.5 hour vet appointment- (P.S. remind me to be a vet in my next life- Bucko Bucks!!)- I didn't have much hope.

But, she pulled through. And thankfully, has stopped peeing like a racehorse on Mtn. Dew.

This photo shows her tenacity and unwillingness to back down from a fight. Notice her devilish (almost evil) look in her eye and her exposed claws on the stair. Yikes, no wonder the nasty little neighbor boys are scared shitless.

Hap Hap Happy Berfday Ferdi!

Ferdi (Ferdinand) is our St. Bernard. We celebrate his B-day every year on Halloween. We have Chanel's B-day on Easter every year. Call me a freak if you want, but I love my dogs and will treat them like kids forever.
Post B-day pancake.
Devouring the great B-day pancake. We had to make one for Chanel because she gets insanely jealous if she gets left out.
He was sooooooo excited when we sang him Happy birthday! He loved it!
I was hoping he would blow out the candle himself, but he just looked at me like "Can I eat it now?" We blew it out for him.

I feel very blessed to be able to live in a place so close to nature.

This hawk must nest close to my house because more times than not he is hanging out right on this fence post when I get home form work. I have a deep respect and fascination for birds and like to think that being close to them is good luck.

I call this photo "Horses on a Hill". Inventive right? They are not mine, but when I turn into my driveway I always see them hanging out right there.

Cool...Crisp...
The Mtn. Green side of Mt. Ogden after the first snow of this year.

I chased him around for 10 minutes trying to get him in the house!- He ran around and around the car- and I'm so dumb I kept chasing him-
Oh, Chanel- such so sassy- She's been to all the training- and she still refuses to do things my way! She has her own way doing things- and can eat off the counter without you hearing a sound- Bad Girl- But beautiful- Snuggle Bunny- She was on my lap and REFUSED to move- Notice how she wouldn't even look at me- good thing I don't have any real kids- I'd be in trouble with a capital T.

Everyone thinks their kids are always the cutest- Pretty sure mine are way cuter than yours!

Ferdi- Cutest St. B. EVER! Okay, so, he saw the car door open-

There's the baby! A very BIG Baby-
